Three Liupanshui-Malaysia MoU Signed To Boost Tourism Ties

On 1st December, three memorandum of understandings between a city in China’s Guizhou Province, Liupanshui and Malaysia was signed to strengthen local cooperation between the two cities in trade, tourism and culture.

The signing brought together Liupanshui’s Deputy Party Secretary Wei Xiongjun; Vice Minister Zhou Meifen; MCA Vice-President as well as Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun and Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Vice-President, Loo Kok Seong.

Liupanshui signed MoUs with Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association and Zheng He Duo Yun Xuan Art Gallery respectively.

As reminded by Wei Xiongjun, during Prime Minister Najib Razak’s visit to China on Nov 17th, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang pointed out that China is now more than willing to push forward the construction of “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” together with Malaysia.

Promotion between Liupanshui and Malaysia

Both Liupanshui and Malaysia have a lot to offer in terms of tourism. The similarities in terms of variety in racial cultures and mountainous sceneries are what Liupanshui is focusing on to promote Liupanshui to Malaysian tourists and vice versa.

  1. More than 90% of land area of Liupanshui are mountainous, quite similar to Malaysia’s own 70% mountain forest lands.
  2. Whilst Malaysia is a multi-racial country with races such as Malay, Chinese, Indian and other ethnic races of different cultures, Liupanshui has 45 different ethnic cultures such as Yi, Miao, Buyi and others.
  3. Both countries are also similar in the industrial division where we both have industries of mineral exploration, agricultural processing, electronic product, mountain tourist and so much more.

Liupanshui today has become a favourable place for the common people to live because of its peaceful and natural surrounding. Investors has started to develop new businesses here while tourists love coming to Liupanshui to experience the cool weather and mountainous scenery.

Liupanshui, dubbed as “Cool City Of China” gets its name from its yearly cool temperature, where in the summer, the normal temperature is 19°C. Waterfalls, karst caves, ravines, forests, lakes and hot springs are abundant in this city. Famous and beautiful scenic landscapes such as The Beipanjiang River and Mount Plum Blossom will take your breath away.
