Located at only 8-minutes walk to LEGOLAND Malaysia Theme Park, this newly-opened, 3-month old serviced-residence called Somerset Medini Nusajaya is perfect for the weekend getaway with the partner or family.
Somerset Medini Nusajaya Serviced-Residences
The serviced-residence is, slightly far from Johor Bahru town, however. Even going through the Highway (toll), it will take approximately 30-minutes drive from Johor Bahru. So, if you’re the type of person who wants to get out of town but not willing to get too far, Somerset Medini Nusajaya is definitely a perfect place for a short staycation.
Incorporating “Urban Welness” development into its structure, Somerset Medini Nusajaya will very soon be connected to a 4-storey wellness centre, 5-storey corporate training centre with meetings and conventions facilities as well as retail outlets.
Facilities, Rooms & Rates
I stayed at Somerset Medini Nusajaya twice this month, in conjunction with the Star Wars event held at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. I loved that Somerset Medini Nusajaya is not the average hotel but a serviced-residence, housing more than 300 rooms in it’s 33-storey building.
Public Facilities
The residence has a large basement parking for guests, gym facilities, swimming pool and common computers at the lobby area that can be used for free by guests.
The First Floor has a very picturesque and relaxing place to hang out, unwind, or just listen to the sound of falling water. Also a good place to take photos, if you’re a photo-buff.
Rooms
I stayed in the King-sized One-bedroom apartment although there are other rooms with two and three bedroom apartments. All rooms are furnished with fully-equipped kitchen, a separate living, working and sleeping areas, en-suite bathroom and many more. Selected rooms also has balconies.
In my opinion, if you’re here with the family, maybe you can bring spare utensils for the kitchen. Also, bring some food so you can cook up a storm in the kitchen – okay, maybe a storm is too much, Iron Chef.
Rates
There is a Special Opening Price Offer for staying at Somerset Medini Nusajaya, starting at RM288 per night (including breakfast). This offer will not last long though. Normal price starts from RM388 above.
Prices above may differ according to room sizes, peak or off-peak seasons and availability.
So, if you’re planning for a short getaway for yourself or your family – especially if you have children – you should head down to Johor’s own LEGOLAND and spend the night at Somerset Medini Nusajaya.
Services by staffs
Although the serviced-residence are newly opened and staffs are slightly underhand, the currents staffs are very accommodating and helpful, especially when it comes to requirements of additional toiletries or drinks sachets as well as taxiing guests to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort if we’re too lazy to walk.
Also, due to the newly opened condition, some rooms (such as common dining room) are yet to be properly furnished but are currently undergoing renovation for the comfort of guests at the residence.
Hopefully, by the time you read this and plan your own staycation at Somerset Medini Nusajaya, you would experience the best of the best for yourself.

Eh, next time can consider this place of staying instead of staying inside the legoland? Price reasonable as well 🙂
The price is considerable looking at the room condition. I wonder how many people can fit into the room?
