Acitivites at Sumiran Eco-Camp

Sumiran Eco Camp Futsal Activity

Sumiran Eco-Camp, Kuching, Sarawak

“Once Discovered, Never Forgotten”, is what’s written on the front page of their brochure – quite an expectation set on them with such promise.

Since I had the chance to visit Sumiran Eco-Camp at Rantau Panjang Batu Kawa, Kuching, Sarawak with a few friends of the media on a press trip last August, I got to find out first-hand if that promise is true.

Fun Activities Available at Sumiran Eco-Camp

There are variety of activities available at Sumiran Eco-Camp, it being a rainforest mix eco-camp that provides back-to-basic camping and training concept.

I was only there for half a day but the things we managed to do throughout that day not only left us all exhausted but also completely satisfied and happy.

Outdoor Zumba

When we arrived, we had a few drinks before starting the first activity of the day, Outdoor Zumba. I’ve always loved dancing and dancing to Latin music (even if the are just exercising steps) are fun for me. Proud to say that the ones who joined the whole 7-songs marathon did not give up in between, even though by the end of it we were sweating buckets.

Not to mention that both the lively trainers helped pump up our excitement too.

Futsal

The second activity we did was probably one of the best we had on that day – futsal.

We were divided into 3 teams where the final winning team will go against the “Sumiran All-Stars”. The only trick to playing? We have to wear the traditional kain pelikat or sarong. Many stunts, splits, and rolls later, the winner is none other than the “Sumiran All-Stars”.

But we certainly had a lot of fun at the futsal field. There were more than a hundred photos to prove it!

Flying Fox

I can never say never to flying fox. I am quite hooked to all height-related activities these days. Although, flying fox isn’t exactly an extreme sport but this is definitely an activity at Sumiran Eco-Camp that you shouldn’t say no to.

Kayak

There’s a small lake here where you can kayak in, and don’t worry, there are no crocs here. The crocs are located at a Park a few kilometres away though. It is advisable not to bring electronics in your pocket when you kayak, just in case an accident occur and you get drenched in the lake.

We kayaked to our heart content there.

There are many other programmes available here which includes:

  1. Teambuilding
  2. Leadership & Prefect Training
  3. Family Day Rereat & Birthday
  4. Outdoor Zumba

Other activities to experience are:

  1. Flying Fox
  2. Adventure Trail
  3. Futsal Field
  4. Volleyball Field
  5. Kayaking
  6. Mountain Bike Trail
  7. Campfire
