Kenyir Waterpark

Located at Lake Kenyir, Kenyir Waterpark is the latest attraction available here, offering many water activities for both adults and children. In conjunction with the Kenyir Festival 2015, the Kenyir Waterpark was opened on 31st May 2015, introducing the first phase of the project to the public.

Kenyir Waterpark is located at Poh Island, one of the islands within Lake Kenyir. Facing the Pengkalan Gawi Jetty, it takes less than 5 minutes to get from Lake Kenyir’s Pengkalan Gawi Jetty to the Kenyir Waterpark by boat.

Currently, the Kenyir Waterpark is at its first phase with only a few water activities introduced to the public. Some of the games available at the moment are :

  1. Giant Slides
  2. Slides
  3. Playstation (on land) – Paddle Pool & Splash Pool
  4. Paddle Boat
  5. Playstation (on lake) – Ninja Warrior

The Ninja Warrior is only opened for adults, it being that the lake can reach 150 metres to the bottom. Adults are advised to wear life jackets before entering the playstation for safety purposes. It is also advisable not to bring valuables into the playstation.

Other facilities available at the Kenyir Waterpark includes :

  1. Restaurants,
  2. Souvenir Shops,
  3. Toilets and Changing Rooms
  4. Surau
  5. Cabanas

The second and third phase will be completed in a year and two year’s time respectively which will include a 4-lane 500 metres bridge. There will also be an additional jetty, 8 resorts and a hotel that costs RM270 million to complete.

At the moment, I would advise visitors to come to the waterpark in the morning when the weather is slightly cooler. It could get stinging hot by noon so if you don’t want to get tanned, do put on a lot of sunblock and drink a lot of water.
