KLIA Premier Access – First Airport Premium Lounge
On 21st October 2016, Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) unveiled its first ever airport premium lounge – KLIA Premier Access at KLIA, Sepang.
The service is on par with Malaysia Airports’ five-year business plan called Runway to Success 2020 (RtS2020), which are:
- Establishing KLIA as the premier ASEAN Hub
- Enhancing total airport experience
- Facilitating the development of airport city; KLIA Aeropolis
- Increasing international footprint
As outlined in the RtS2020, Malaysia airport aims to transform from an airport operator into a service leader through its Total Airport Experience (TAE) initiative. The initiative is structured into three key areas:
- Meeting basic needs
- Providing unique experience
- Creating memorable moments
Based from these three, the KLIA Premier Access is born.
I’m planning to purchase Italy tour packages for my family and I and fly via MAS. Maybe using the KLIA Premier Access Services would be a great idea, especially touring in large number (with family).
KLIA Premier Access Services
KLIA Premier Access offers exclusive service to cater to your needs, especially taking note of your comfort and time.
Guests will experience seamless end-to-end service where you will be greeted on arrival at the kerbside and brought to the lounge on a buggy. Your check-in process will be facilitated by the airport staff, you will be brought through fast track security, immigration and customs lanes. You will also get to ride the buggy all the way to the boarding gates.
The service above, Premium Service is only RM188. There is the Standard Service as well, priced at RM68. More rates as below:
Leveraging on airport’s subsidiary Sama Sama Hotel, the hotel will be managing the service offered by KLIA Premier Access from end to end.
This service is currently only available at KLIA Main. Soon (probably in 2017), the service will be available in KLIA2 as well as other international airports.
Updates on other Airport Services
Since TAE is structured around three core areas, MAHB find it is highly important to meet the basic needs of guests at the airport. This includes creating variety and quality F&B and cleanliness in the public toilets.
F&B Outlets – There are a variety of F&B outlets in both KLIA and KLIA2 serving many delicious food. They comprise eateries belonging to well-established international brands as well as Malaysian names such as Eden, BMS Lohas, Granmama’s and many more. This is to cater to guests or families of guests as they’re waiting for departure or when arrival.
Public Toilets – Due to negative feedbacks left by customers at the airport, MAHB has taken additional measures in response to the feedbacks by,
- increasing the cleaning frequency at toilets every 15 minutes during peak hours
- providing dedicated hotline number to provide feedback through Whatsapp – complains can be Whatsapped to the hotline number (providing stall number and toilet location) and it will be resolved within 10 minutes. Whatsapp is also used to show proof of problem resolved by sharing photos to complainant.
There are also amusing posters being put up in the toilets to remind the general public that in using public amenities, it is also important to observe the right toilet etiquette.
